American Muckraker Summary and Review

The public is clamoring for the release of James O’Keefe’s third book, “American Muckraker”. As of this writing, it is already number one on the Amazon Bestseller List in the category “Professional Responsibility Law and Ethics”…. and it is not yet available.

The subtitle is telling, “Rethinking Journalism for the 21st Century”. Objective journalism has virtually disappeared. Right leaning people tune into Fox News, read conservative newspapers such as The New York Post, and listen to talk radio… a medium dominated by conservative voices. Left leaning people do likewise. They watch MSNBC or CNN and read the Washington Post and/or New York Times. Each of the aforementioned media outlets knows what their audience wants to hear, so they deliver it.

As soon as possible, I will update this post with an American Muckraker Summary.

O’Keefe is a proud conservative for sure, but he is able to back up his arguments with hard data: clandestine videos and deep undercover work. It is sure to be an entertaining read.

O’Keefe’s 2014 Book

In 2013, O’Keefe published “Breakthrough: Our Guerilla War to Expose Fraud and Save Democracy”. It was a first hand account of his efforts to shine light into some of the darkest corners of our public institutions.

In 2014, O’Keefe screened some “Candid Camera” style “gotcha” videos that caught celebrity environmentalists taking money from phony Arab oil tycoons to finance movies that depicted fracking in a bad light. Domestic oil fraking increases the supply of oil on the world market, thereby depressing the price, not something the Arabs wanted to see.

Later in 2014, O’Keefe turned his attention to investigating candidates for the US Senate in four battleground states. He was able to demonstrate that the candidates made promises on the stump that they assured their big money backers would never be kept.
